Kiersten is the Chief Legal Officer of Hercules Capital. She oversees and manages the company’s legal and compliance team, as well as provides strategic guidance to the board and management. Kiersten also serves as the Chief Compliance Officer of Hercules Capital and its investment adviser subsidiary.

Prior to joining Hercules Capital in 2022, Kiersten was an associate general counsel at Bain Capital Credit, LP. At Bain, she advised the private credit and structured credit groups on transactions, offerings and strategic initiatives, with specific responsibility for the firm’s business development company. Before Bain, Kiersten was a vice president at BlackRock, Inc., where she advised on the firm’s closed-end funds and business development companies. Prior to BlackRock, Kiersten was an associate in the investment management group of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, where she represented public and private investment funds and investment advisers with the structuring and distribution of investment products, and in other regulatory, compliance and governance matters.

Kiersten received her J.D. from Boston University School of Law and her B.A. from Boston University.
