John O’Leary joined Hercules in 2020 and is a Vice President working in the San Mateo office. John focuses on investment opportunities in public and private growth stage life sciences and healthcare companies within sectors that include healthcare technology, healthcare services, biotechnology, medical devices, and specialty pharmaceuticals.

Prior to Hercules, John worked in several roles at Silicon Valley Bank where he underwrote debt capital commitments to early and growth stage venture capital and private equity backed healthcare and technology companies.

John graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles with a B.A. in both Economics and French.
